Belarus international midfielder who joined the Gunners from VfB Stuttgart in June 2005. Hleb made 137 appearances for the Bundesliga club during his five years in Germany, scoring 13 goals. Started his career with FC Bate Borisov in his native country, who he helped lift the league title in 1999. Made his international debut in a 1-0 defeat against Wales in Cardiff in 2001, and then scored on his first international start - a 5-2 victory over Hungary in April 2002. The creative midfielder - voted Belarus sportsman of the year in 2002 - possesses the crucial gift of being able to unlock opposition defences.
