PROFILE
Portugal international right back who followed Jose Mourinho to Chelsea in a £13.25million move from Porto in July 2004. Mourinho noted the defender's rise, taking him from Vitoria Setubal in July 2002. Within two seasons, they had shared Champions League and UEFA Cup success. Although he missed much on the Euro 2004 campaign, Ferreira had already made his mark, being voted into the UEFA Team of 2003. Ferreira combines his defensive strengths - tough-tackling and tactical acumen - with the ability to forage forward, crucial elements for a Barclays Premiership full-back.
