Gifted young central midfielder signed from Norwegian outfit Lyn Oslo in June 2006 to end a long-running transfer saga which also involved Manchester United. The Blues paid ý4million to Lyn and £12million to United to resolve the issue and add the Nigeria international to an already formidable midfield pool at Stamford Bridge. An attacking and technically gifted playmaker, much is expected of the youngster both in England and in his homeland.
