PROFILE
Multi-functional Ghana midfielder completed his protracted switch from Lyon to Chelsea in August 2005. Joined Bastia in 2001 and made his international debut the following year. Moved to Lyon in 2003 and went on to win the French title in each of his two seasons with the club. Voted player of the year by France's National Union of Professional Footballers in 2005 after scoring five goals in 10 Champions League appearances.
