PROFILE
Czech Republic midfielder signed from Borussia Dortmund on a long-term deal for an undisclosed fee in May 2006. A quick, skilful and creative playmaker, Rosicky won the Bundesliga in his first season with Dortmund in 2002 and also helped the German side reach the UEFA Cup final the same year. Twice voted the Czech Republic's Player of the Year, he helped his country reach the semi-finals of Euro 2004 in Portugal and scored the goal which took them to the 2006 World Cup in a play-off second leg against Norway in Prague. Won back-to-back league titles with Sparta Prague in his homeland and scored against Arsenal in a 4-2 Champions League group defeat at Highbury in 2000, before moving to Dortmund.
